Adding complex Data Types to T-SQL

August 10, 2011 Leave a comment

Jamie Thompson is on a campaign trail to get complex data types, and the ability to derive data types from existing table objects, added to T-SQL.  This would be a great feature, I can’t remember how many times I’ve had a data type change in a source table and then have to go through a handful of stored procedures and update the parameter types, or worse yet, variables and temp table types.

Only to miss one and watch the ETL fail.
